Dr. Hussain received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Sciences from Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University, India, his Masters of Science from the University of Tennessee, and his Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri. During the past 32 years, Syed has worked in meat, poultry and other food productions, research & development, technical services and process improvement. He has lead continuous improvement projects and served an instrumental role in the formation of the joint Meat and Poultry Black Belt training program with Iowa State University. Dr. Syed Ajaz Hussain is an internationally known and recognized expert in the Food and Nutrition industry. He has been teaching statistical process control (SPC) methods since 1972. He has also won several teaching, research and development awards both from Iowa State University and ConAgra Foods. While at ConAgra Foods, Dr. Hussain was responsible for processing-skills technical development, which focused on increasing the competency of team leaders through improved problem-solving and facilitation skills. He designed and conducted on-site training programs in statistical process control, quality improvement, and the Six Sigma methodology for ConAgra Foods manufacturing facilities. His productivity improvement and loss control improvement programs have resulted in millions of dollars savings for the company. He also conducted training programs across North America in the areas of SPC and integrating HACCP and SPC. Dr. Hussain is a professional member of Institute of Food Technologists, American Meat Science Association, American Society of Quality, Poultry Science Association.
